Ravencourt began in 1984 with a simple idea — to make things well.

Founded by Oli’s grandfather, the business started by manufacturing science equipment for schools, earning a reputation for precision, reliability, and thoughtful design. As the years passed, the next generation stepped in. Oli’s father expanded the company into clock manufacturing, laying the foundations for what would become Ravencourt Clocks — a trusted name in classrooms, Office spaces, and healthcare settings across the UK.

But Ravencourt has always been more than what it makes.

The warehouse we call home today is the very place where Oli spent his childhood — learning, exploring, and spending time alongside his grandfather. It’s where curiosity was shaped into purpose.

Years later, as Oli joined the business, that purpose became deeply personal.

His grandfather was diagnosed with dementia.

Experiencing this first-hand revealed something that couldn’t be ignored — a lack of products that truly support people living with dementia in a way that preserves dignity, independence, and comfort.

In 2018, when Oli became Managing Director, Ravencourt evolved.

What began as a manufacturer became a mission-led company — focused on designing innovative daily living aids that genuinely improve quality of life. Every product is created with empathy, clarity, and real-world understanding at its core.

Today, Ravencourt is home to three distinct brands:

  • Ravencourt living — bringing considered, everyday aids directly into people’s homes

Over the years we have helped many different brands with developing and commercialising products. We have been manufacturing products in China and importing/ exporting for over 40 years.

Sourcing – If you know what you want but you’re not sure how to go about sourcing from the Far East. We can take the stress away from the process. We can work with you to design a brief, then we can find a manufacturer of your desired products. We can;

  • Audit the factory.
  • Negotiate pricing.
  • Handle communications.
  • Arrange compliance testing.
  • Quality control (QC) testing.
  • Sea freight &/or airfreight.

We can do this as a package, delivering the product to you delivery duty paid (DDP) at a set price. Or we can handle any one of these steps to make your life easier and most importantly manage the risk when dealing with the unknown. We can also take you out to trade fairs in Hong Kong and China to source products and to meet potential suppliers. 

New Product Development – If you have an idea then we can help you to turn that into a physical product. We can help to advise on shapes and designs that are cost effective for manufacturing. We can create prototypes. Typically, this begins with hand made samples for assessment, together we can decide what changes need making to the product and any software or programming development before moving to a pre and then postproduction sample. When the form of the product is decided we can begin tooling. A tool is a set of steel blocks that fit together to create the shape of your product when filled with moulten plastic from an injection moulding machine. You own this tool and we can take you to China to visit your new asset.

Commercialisation – Having been in business for so long we can work through the commercialisation of your product with you. Bringing new products to market is expensive and time consuming (well it was before you met Ravencourt) but can guide you through the process to make sure that it’s a profitable exercise for your business. 

Distribution – If your product is designed for people living with a disability then we can help to distribute your product throughout the UK through charities and specialist retailers and through major retailers like Sainsburys Argos & Boots. We can also reach international markets with particularly strong networks in Australia, USA & Canada.
